This comic is currently on hiatus. In truth I just couldn't update this andUnCONventional with my schedule. As UnCONventional is set to wrap at the end of 2019 though, I intend to return to Crosarth in mid 2020. Thank you for your patience.
Trae-First off, congratulations on your anniversary. God bless ya, bro, bless ya both! Sheryl & I've just celebrated our 29th….working toward our 30th….so I cannot help but be just overly delighted for you both. Many wonderful years & beyond for you two lovebirds! Kudos!!! Hooray!!!
Secondly, if the Hawk's turrets aren't working, surely the Hummingbird's are, right? I would hope that the Admiral, (after his polite correction to his dad-very diplomatic of you, Ford, smooooothhh…), and his ship's commander would have operative guns aboard: both the main cannon AND the turretted, RIGHT? So….if the H-Bird's turrets are working, can't the commander have the propulsion systems targeted and taken out so the Hawk cannot move?? I'm just axin', is all.
JIM
I could write paragraphs about the technical specs and various weapons the two (very differently sized ships) have.
(The Hawk is huge compared to the Hummingbird — as the names would imply)
But the weapons on board aren't the problem. The problem is that the crew of the Hummingbird may not be prepared to fire on their own people over their own country's capital city.
Ummmm…..that's a good point, Trae, but wouldn't all of that feeling become moot in light of the true comments that the Commander & Kurt overheard & by now, relayed to the other crew, especially to the Admiral & his dad? I can't help but think that, while it may be difficult, surely the H-Bird can target their propulsion drives (props, etc.) to disable for a time while they make good their getaway? JIM
I went back, sat down and reviewed the panels where the Bird is used/displayed, (including fanart, et al). We all know the Hawk is bigger & bulkier, using more G-Drive & boilers, etc., in order to effect lift & propulsion. We see the Bird is much lighter & in general a more nimble craft. Logic dictates then, (me in Vulcan mode), that the Bird fly as swiftly as possible with an overall erratic/zig-zaggy pattern to deny the Hawk's main gunners a chance to acheive a targetting solution until the Bird's able to remove herself from the main population arena. Aren't there mountains & foothills nearby with the inherent fog that can confuse & obfuscate the Bird's path so's that the crew of the Hawk cannot ascertain the Bird's trajectory? That's all I can see….anyone else??? JIM

There may be simpler solutions. 🙂
I've read and reread and, no offense, Trae, but I don't see it. I'm sure you're right but I'm just not seeing that "simpler solution".
JIM
Of course not – but that's because I'm deliberately not telling you what's going to happen. 😛
You big meanie you! Not even if it's my birthday today that you'll give me a birthday hint (hint, hint)…
😉 Com'on, you can share!
